SAN MARCOS, Texas – The last road game of the regular season will see Texas State (18-11, 10-6 Sun Belt) travel to face Louisiana (9-19, 6-9 Sun Belt) on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 12 p.m. inside the Cajundome.

About Texas State
The Bobcats enter the game on a seven-game winning streak, the team's longest since ending the 2021-22 regular season winning nine straight. The latest victory was an overtime contest at South Alabama that saw freshmen Robert Fields and DJ Hall combined for 39 points and 16 rebounds. The win vaulted TXST into a tie for third in the Sun Belt Conference standings with App State and both teams sit half a game back of Marshall and Troy for first place.
Hall increased his team leading scoring average to 15.3 points per game with his third consecutive 20-point performance. The freshman is also grabbing a team best 7.4 rebounds per game and has made a conference leading 55.1% of his shots. He has also recorded 66 assists and 42 steals on the year.
Mark Drone is the only other Texas State player with a double-digit scoring average at 13.8 ppg. He has made 44.1% of his field goal attempts and is second on the team with 80 assists after dishing out a career-high tying eight against the Jaguars.
Chipping in 9.0 ppg and dishing out a team-high 3.2 assists per game is Kaden Gumbs. The San Marcos native leads the Sun Belt with 56 assists, the fifth most in a season by a Texas State player. Franck Emmou comes in scoring 7.6 ppg behind a team-high 32 made three-pointers, five of which he knocked down on Thursday night.
About Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns come into the contest on a three-game losing streak after falling at home Thursday night to Arkansas State. They have also dropped meetings with Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion. At home, Louisiana is 6-8 with a 3-5 mark in conference play.
Dorian Finister leads the team in scoring (14.5), rebounding (4.7), shooting percentage (43.7%), three-point percentage (36.3%), made free throws (105) and steals. He is second on the squad with 37 made treys and third with 52 assists.
Jaxon Olvera comes in putting up 12.2 ppg behind a team-high 47 made three-pointers. Also with a double-digit scoring mark is De'vion Lavergne at 10.2 ppg and he has handed out a team-high 82 assists.
Series History
Louisiana leads the all-time series 22-9 but Texas State has won two of the last three meetings. In the first matchup this year back on Jan. 14, Gumbs scored a season-high 18 points and Hall recorded a 16-point, 14-rebound double-double in the 59-54 victory in Strahan Arena.
When playing in Lafayette, the Bobcats are 4-9 all-time. They won the most recent game 89-74 on Jan. 23, 2025 that ended a six-game skid overall in the series.
