TROY, Alabama – Kyla McBride became the first Bobcat since 2010 to have five blocks in a game in the Bobcats game against Troy on Saturday night.

Despite the 13 points, six rebound, five block and six steal night from McBride, the Bobcats fell 84-49 at Troy.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
Despite the Trojans starting out on a 6-0 scoring run, Texas State responded well. The Bobcats were able to make it a two-possession game in the final minute of the quarter. The Trojans led just 21-17 after 10 minutes.

The two teams traded baskets in the early goings of the second quarter, but Troy was able to narrowly extend its lead off, going up by as many as 14. Despite that, Texas State was able to limit Troy to just two points in the final four minutes of the first half with efficient defense. At the half, Texas State trailed 38-25.

The third quarter took all the momentum in favor of the Trojans, as they outscored Texas State 30-10. The Trojans did this by winning the rebounding battle, outrebounding Texas State 21-11. After three quarters, Texas State trailed 68-35.

The two teams matched scoring in the 4
th quarter, with Troy narrowly outscoring Texas State 16-14. The deficit was too much for the Bobcats to overcome, though, and Texas State lost 84-49.

Texas State is now 6-8 on the season and 2-2 in Sun Belt play after today's loss to Troy.
