LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Â
Kyra Anderson recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the Bobcats 55-43 win versus Louisiana.
Â
Alongside Anderson's efforts, the Bobcats shot a perfect 16-16 from the free throw line as a team enroute to the win.Â
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
The Bobcats shot efficiently in the first quarter to keep the score close, going 4-6 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line. Despite that, though, turnovers gave Louisiana more possessions to work with. The Bobcats did well to limit their scoring, though, holding Louisiana to just 5-20 shooting. After the first quarter, it was a one-point game with Louisiana leading 13-12.
Â
The Bobcats were able to put some distance between themselves and the Ragin' Cajuns in the second quarter with a 3-3 quarter from Anderson. Her six points helped the Bobcats to their 13 on the quarter. Louisiana shot just 2-8 in the second quarter as the Bobcats held them to just six points. At the half, Texas State led 25-19.
Â
Through the third quarter, Texas State was able to add to their lead with 7-14 shooting for 18 points, with Anderson accounting for eight of those. She also contributed to the Bobcats holding Louisiana to just five made field goals in the third. Headed into the final quarter, Texas State led 43-32.
Â
Anderson got herself to the double-double in the fourth quarter with two rebounds. That, alongside six points from
Angela Carroll helped Texas State come out on top against the Ragin' Cajuns. Texas State went on to win 55-43 on Saturday afternoon.
Â
Texas State is now 7-8 on the season and 3-2 in Sun Belt play after today's win at Louisiana.
