Despite that,
Kyra Anderson had her third-straight double-digit night with 16 points against the Chanticleers. She paired that with five rebounds and four steals. Additionally,
Saniya Burks tallied 11 points while going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line and
Kaliyah Murphy came off the bench for seven points and nine rebounds in 15 minutes of play time.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first quarter favored the Chanticleers as they scored 21 points on an efficient 8-15 shooting in the first quarter, including 3-5 from beyond the arc. The Bobcats struggled to score, tallying just six points to combat the high-scoring Chanticleers. After the first quarter the Bobcats trialed 21-6 with four of the team's points from

The Bobcats bounced back in the second to outscore the Chanticleers, though. The Bobcats made a dent in the deficit by outscoring them 12-8 to make it a 29-18 score at the halftime break. It was eight points from Anderson on 4-9 shooting that helped Texas State battle in the second. She had 10 points and four rebounds in the first half.

Our of the halftime break, the Chanticleers upped their scoring. Despite the Bobcats out-rebounding them 10-7, the home side shot 8-12 from the field, 5-6 from three and 12-14 from the free throw line to score 33 in the third. Texas State scored 19 while going a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line, but they continued to find themselves trailing heading to the fourth quarter.

The Bobcats were able to slow down the three-point scoring in the fourth quarter, with the Chanticleers scoring just one in the fourth. It was a battle at the free thrown line, though, with Texas State shooting 8-10 and the Chanticleers shooting 10-12. In the end, the Bobcats deficit was too much to overcome and they'd go on to lose 85-53.
Texas State is now 9-11 on the season and 5-5 in Sun Belt play after today's loss to Coastal Carolina.
