Bobcats Suffer First Home Loss on Sunday Versus ODU

Texas State fell 4-0 to Old Dominion

SAN MARCOS, Texas – In its second match against a nationally ranked team this season, Texas State women's tennis fell 4-0 versus No. 41 Old Dominion. The loss marked the Bobcats' first home loss of the season and their second loss in conference play.

"Today was tough," said head coach Kendall Brooks. "We knew this team was obviously very strong, but I think we believed we had a shot at it. Especially after a super strong start in doubles, that hurt to let it slip away. But we competed and stayed out there and just couldn't quite get it done today. Hoping that we can finish strong the last two matches and get that momentum back going into the conference tournament."

However, the Monarchs battled back to clinch the doubles point, with wins on courts three and two. Callie Creath and Kiana Graham dropped their match 4-6, and on court two, Maria Lora and Chantajah Mills fell in a tiebreak 6(4)-7(7).
