LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – Sakke Siltala continues his dominance at the top of the Bobcat lineup, sitting tied for second after two rounds to lead the Texas State men's golf team at the 40th Louisiana Classics held at the Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.
The junior fired a first-round, low 67 to open the event, the second lowest round of the tournament so far, and closed the day carding even-par 72 in the second round to head into the final 18 in a three-way tie for second and three strokes back from individual leader Malan Potgieter of Louisiana who climbed 10 spots in the second round shooting -7.
No. 7 LSU is 15-under on top of the team leaderboard with No. 24 Texas A&M (-12) second and host Louisiana (-7) third. The Bobcats are 10th at +12 shooting rounds of +1 and +11 on the day.
Jack Burke and
Enzo Dakiche (IND) are tied for 28th each sitting at 2-over for the tournament.
Ben Loveard (+7, T54),
Joel Talusen (+8, T57) and
Jaxon Donaldson (+11, T66) round out the TXST lineup after 36 holes.
The final round of action takes place Tuesday and will stream on ESPN+ starting at 9:15 a.m. CT. Texas State paired with Illinois State and Middle Tennessee teeing off from hole No. 1 starting at 7:48 a.m.
