SAN MARCOS, Texas – In its first home match of the season, Texas State defeated Abilene Christian 5-2 on Saturday. The Bobcats once again secured the doubles point and earned three straight wins in singles play to clinch the match.
"Today's match was tough," said head coach
Kendall Brooks. "We had a great start in doubles and in a lot of first sets in singles, and then the momentum shifted a bit. But I thought we did a good job of handling that and swinging it back in our direction to close out the weekend with another win. This team keeps showing me that they are fighters and willing to work for each other and for the win, and that is fun to be a part of."
The Bobcats are now 5-2 on the season and carry a four-match winning streak into their next match.
