Bobcats Battle Weather in 4-2 Win Over Tarleton State

Texas State moves to 6-2 on the year and has five consecutive wins

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State won its Valentine's Day match against Tarleton State 4-2 on Friday and secured its fifth-consecutive victory.

"This was a great win for our team," said head coach Kendall Brooks. "We knew they were tough and it was going to be a battle. I am really proud of the girls for handling all of the things today through at us -rough start, cold, rain delays and some close matches- they stayed composed and fought to the finish. We will enjoy this one and then look to finish strong with our last three matches before conference."

In a match that lasted nearly five hours, the Bobcats battled through two weather delays and a setback in doubles play to earn their sixth win of the season on Friday. They fell behind early after giving up the doubles point but were able to fight back in singles play, winning matches on courts one, five, six and four, to earn the 4-2 win over the Texans.
