SAN MARCOS – The Texas State men's golf team returns to action Monday and Tuesday at the Hal Williams Collegiate hosted by South Alabama at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Alabama.
The Bobcats are coming off their best finish of the season to close the fall, tying for fourth in the 15-team field at the Kapolei Invitational Oct. 29-31. Junior
Sakke Siltala led TXST at the event after going 3-under to tie for second. The fall season also saw Texas State finish fifth at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate and featured three players in the top 20 in Siltala,
Ben Loveard and
Jack Burke.

Individually, Siltala leads the Bobcats with a 70.00 stroke average over nine rounds. He and Burke (72.00) have had all nine of their rounds count toward the team score this season, while Loveard has contributed six and Donaldson five. This will be the first time Cox is competing as part of the lineup, with his previous three rounds coming as an individual at the Bubba Barnett.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will open with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start each day. TXST is paired with Southern Miss and Seton Hall for rounds one and two teeing off from Nos. 12-15.
The 2024 season saw Burke and Siltala as All-Sun Belt selections, helping Texas State to four top five finishes including a win at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. The team qualified for match play at the Sun Belt Championship for the first time in program history after tying for third in stroke play.
