Ja'Mia Harris.

Crystal Smith had 10 of her own.Â
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
The first quarter was close between the two sides, with things tied up a 15 apiece towards the end of the quarter. Texas State shot 4-12 in the quarter, but South Alabama shot an efficient 6-7 while knocking down 6-8 from the free throw line to put themselves up 18-16 after the first quarter.
Saniya Burks led with five points in the first quarter for the Bobcats as they kept the game close through the first quarter.
Â
The Bobcats were able to go into the halftime break with the lead, though. Texas State improved its shooting to 7-12 while Smith went for five in the second quarter. Smith hit the three-pointer at the end of the quarter to give the Bobcats the 31-28 lead going into the half. South Alabama was able to get more shooting chances in the second than the first, but 5-14 shooting paled in comparison to the Bobcats 7-12 in the second.
Â
The Bobcats shot above 50% again in the 3
rd period when the team went 7-13. Terrell led the Bobcats with five points, while Foster and Harris both had four points while the Bobcats combined for 18 in the third. They did that while limiting South Alabama to just 13 points in the third, taking at one point a 10-point lead.
Â
Texas State carried its lead the entire way through the fourth as they pushed out to as large as a 13-point lead right before the media time out. Despite South Alabama outscoring Texas State 15-14 in the fourth, the Bobcats held onto their win.Â
Â
Texas State ended the regular season with a 63-56 win and are now 13-16 on the season and 7-11 in Sun Belt play.
