About Texas State
Saturday saw TXST wrap up its road conference slate with a 70-65 overtime loss at South Alabama. It was the team's third overtime game this season. Last time the Bobcats played three extra period contests in a campaign was in 2020-21.

Tylan Pope recorded his sixth double-double of the season in Mobile with 20 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. It was the most boards in a game by a Texas State player since Nijal Pearson hauled down 15 in a double overtime win at UT Arlington on Feb. 28, 2020. Pope also finished with three blocks to increase his season total to 42. He is just the second player in program history to record a 400-point, 40-block campaign, joining Torgeir Bryn who accomplished the feat in 1988-89.

For the season, Pope is netting 16.1 points per game on 53.0% shooting and grabbing 6.3 rebounds a contest. Also with double-digit scoring averages are Mark Drone (13.4), Kaden Gumbs (12.0) and Tyrel Morgan (13.8).

Coleton Benson is putting up 9.6 ppg behind 37 made three-pointers while Joshua O'Garro is adding 9.4 ppg and leads the team with 7.0 rpg. Also with 30-plus made treys is Dylan Dawson with 31.

The Warhawks snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday with an 81-74 win over Southern Miss at home. ULM is 2-10 in road games and have dropped its last two. The lone away win in conference play came on Jan. 30 at South Alabama.

Jalen Bolden leads the team in scoring (13.1) and steals (56) while ranking second in rebounding (6.4) and assists (74). Coltie Young is putting up 12.0 ppg behind a team leading 70 made three-pointers that he is knocking down at 37.2%. Makai Willis is just shy of a double-digit scoring mark at 9.9 while leading the team in rebounding (6.6) and blocks (26).
