Brad Jackson was named a semifinalist for the 13th annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, as announced by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler.
The award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity; specifically, tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: Played football at and graduated from a Texas High School and/or currently playing at Texas D1 four-year college.
Jackson picks up the nod just two days after being named the award's national player of the week for his performance against South Alabama on Nov. 29.
The redshirt-freshman threw for 3,050 yards and 18 touchdowns while rushing for 692 and 16 touchdowns during the 2025 regular season. He led the Sun Belt and ranked in the top 10 nationally in rushing TDs, total offense, total TDs, completion percentage and points responsible for, while also ranking in the nation's top 10 for passing yards and passing efficiency. Jackson registered the league's top single-season performance of the year for total offense (492 yds) and passing yards (444).
At the conclusion of the regular season, Jackson was one of only three quarterbacks nationally to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 600, while helping lead the Bobcats to national rankings of eighth in total offense, 12th in rushing offense and 17th in scoring offense.
His 16 rushing TDs ties the program's single-season record and he is only the fifth Bobcat in TXST history to pass for 3,000 yards.
Jackson was also today named a Sun Belt Conference Third Team selection as one of 12 Bobcats who received postseason honors from the league.
