SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State scored a season-best 95 in their 95-33 win against Huston Tillotson on Monday night. The Bobcats had four players in double-digits including a season best from
Myri Walker with 21 and a career best from
Kaliyah Murphy with 18 and
Kyla McBride with 11.

Kyra Anderson was the fourth of four players in double-digits tonight with 10 points scored.
Kyaija Stewart also had a career-best seven points against the Rams.
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
Deja Jones got the scoring started, but Huston Tillotson answered with a three for their lone lead of the game. Texas State would go on to lead for over 39 minutes of the game as they answered quickly to take the lead. Texas State shot 9-18 in the first quarter to score 25 points, while limiting Huston Tillotson to just 10 points on 3-15 shooting. Texas State ended the quarter with a 15-point lead, leading 25-10.

The Bobcats continued to push, getting themselves out to as much as a 28-point lead before halftime. All 13 Bobcats saw action and shared scoring, but it was Walker with six points in the second quarter to lead for Texas State. At the half, Texas State led 47-20.

Texas State scored a game-best 33 points in the third quarter. Anderson scored eight of her points in the third quarter alone to help the Bobcats to the high-scoring quarter. While shooting 14-19, Texas State pushed out to a 53-point lead in the third. Texas State also was effective defensively, limiting Huston Tillotson to just seven points on 3-18 shooting.

The Bobcats continued to add to their lead in the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 62 with 3:32 to play. In the end, Texas State outrebounded Huston Tillotson 58-24 and outscored them 95-33 to win.

Texas State is now 6-6 on the season after today's win versus Huston Tillotson.
