Box Score HARRISONBURG, Virginia – Saniya Burks and Myri Walker led the Bobcats in scoring with 10 and 12, respectively, in the Bobcats game at James Madison.
 
Despite having two players in double-digits, the Bobcats fell 87-52 against the Dukes.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
James Madison started the game on an 8-0 scoring run that put the Bobcats backs against the wall early. After an early timeout, the Bobcats went back and forth with buckets to keep themselves close through the first quarter. After the first quarter it was 19-9 in favor of the Dukes.
 
The Dukes three-point shooting was the difference maker in the second quarter, when they improved from 1-6 in the first to 6-8 in the second. That helped the Dukes to 24 points in the second quarter. Texas improved it's shooting in the second quarter to score 11, with five from Burks. At the half, Texas State trailed 43-20.
 
Out of the halftime break, Texas State was effective defensively getting five-straight possessions without allowing the Dukes to score. At the media timeout, the Dukes had outscored the Bobcats just 7-6 in the quarter. After the end of the third quarter, Texas State trailed 55-27.
 
Through the 4^th quarter, the Bobcats were able to improve their shooting courtesy of a 12-point fourth quarter from Walker. She went 4-6 including 3-3 from beyond the arc to help the Bobcats score 25 in the final quarter. That wasn't enough to overcome the deficit, though, and the Bobcats fell 87-52.
 
Texas State is now 6-7 on the season and 2-1 in Sun Belt play after today's loss to James Madison.
