HATTIESBURG, Miss. — It was a landmark filled night for the Bobcats with Samantha Wunsch reaching 1,000 career kills and Bailey Hanner reaching 500 career kills in the Bobcats 3-1 win at Southern Miss.

Wunsch recorded her 10^th double-double of the season with 18 kills and 17 digs. That, alongside Hanner's 10 kills were two of five Bobcats in double-digits on kills tonight. Nina Moorer, Caelyn Emmerling and Jade Defraeye each tallied 11 kills as well. The Bobcats also dug a four-set match season-best 74 digs tonight, too, in a complete team effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first set was a battle between the two sides, with ultimately the Golden Eagles edging out a win by a 25-23 scoreline. Despite Texas State tallying 17 kills, a nearly errorless set from the Golden Eagles helped them to keep the Bobcats at bay. Southern Miss' Sadie McAda tallied seven kills in the first set alone en route to the set win.

From there, though, the Bobcats were able to come away with three-straight sets, starting with their own 25-23 set score in the second set. Texas State forced the Golden Eagles to hit just .029 with six attack errors, while the Bobcats tallied 16 kills of their own. The Bobcats dug 19 balls and tallied 4.0 blocks as a team in the second set. Emmerling and Wunsch's four kills apiece led the Bobcats to the set two win.

Set three was the most complete set for the Bobcats as they swung .357 with a 18-3-42 attack line. Led by five kills and four digs from Wunsch, she helped Texas State to a 25-20 win in the third, which was the largest margin of the match. Southern Miss hit just .195 in the third set.

Wunsch continued to be a key part of the Bobcats night in the fourth set as she added six more kills to her tally, including two back-to-back in the dying points of the second set. Ultimately it was Hanner's 500^th kill that won the match for the Bobcats, with Wunsch's 1001^st sending the set to match point.

After today's four set win, Texas State is 11-11 on the season and 6-5 in Sun Belt play.
