Foster Reaches 1,000th Career Point Against Troy

SAN MARCOS, Texas –  Texas State women's basketball suffered a 105-58 loss to the Troy Trojans on Kids Day in Strahan Arena on Thursday afternoon.

Despite a double-double from Morgan Hill and Jaylin Foster reaching a landmark 1,000 career points, their efforts fell short in the loss to the Trojans.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Troy came out aggressively in the first period, shooting 64% on 11-17 shooting while limiting Texas State to just 4-15 shooting. Destiny Terrell was responsible for two of those buckets as she went 2-3 to lead the Bobcats with five of their 10 points in the first quarter. After one quarter, Texas State trailed 27-10.

The Trojans efficient shooting continued into the second as they outscored the Bobcats 25-14 in the second quarter. At the half, Texas State trailed 52-24.

Jaylin Foster reached her 1,000th career point midway through the third quarter as she shot two free throws, sinking them both to hit the milestone evenly. She led the Bobcats with five points in the third for her milestone.

The fourth quarter was more even between the two sides as they matched points at 23 apiece, with Saniya Burks leading both sides with eight of her own. Her 2-3 shooting helped the Bobcats to a game-best 10-20 shooting in the fourth quarter. Hill was responsible for six points and three rebounds in the fourth quarter, which pushed her to her 10 point and 10 rebound double-double. This was her second double-double of the season.

Texas State tested the depth of its bench tonight with all 12 eligible Bobcats seeing at least five minutes of game action.

Texas State is now 9-9 on the season and 3-5 in Sun Belt play.
