COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas State volleyball suffered a three-set loss to Texas A&M on Friday night. Despite nearly getting a win in set two, the Bobcats suffered their second loss of the 2024 season by a 3-0 scoreline.

Texas A&M took an early lead in set one that the Bobcats were unable to overcome. Despite the Bobcat defense getting three blocks, Texas A&M was still able to earn 17 kills in the first set. The home side won set one 25-13.

Set two was back and forth most the way. The Bobcat block continued to show out early on with a block from
Jade Defraeye and Sam Wunsch to give the Bobcats a 3-2 lead. From there, the Bobcats were able to carry some momentum to a 12-8 lead in part due to six Aggie errors early in the set. Texas A&M fought their way back to tie the set at 22 and despite a battle all the way through, Texas State fell 26-24 in set two.Â

The third set favored the home side as they had 12 kills on 17 attack attempts to put themselves up 18-7 early on. From there, they continued to a win in set three by a 25-19 scoreline.Â

Texas State will continue on the road in Hawaii for three matches, two versus the University of Hawaii and one with Oregon State next week.

Texas State will continue its road slate and head to Hawaii for three matches, two versus Hawaii and one with Oregon State. The Bobcats first match in Hawaii will be vs the hosts on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at midnight (CT). Texas State's home opener will be in October for a series with Troy on the 4

th.
