SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State Athletics announced that Lindsey Olsen will be joining the department as the Associate Athletic Director of Athletic Communications.
Olsen will serve as a leader in the external operations unit overseeing strategic communications including media relations, sport social media, and creative content.
With more than a decade of athletics communications experience including radio and promotional activations, Olsen has worked in multiple NCAA Division 1 collegiate athletics programs and professional sports with stops at Morehead State, SMU and Indy Eleven.
Olsen comes to Texas State after a year and a half as the director of communications for the Indy Eleven Soccer Club of the USL Championship. While in Indianapolis, she also served as the primary media liaison for the National Champion W League team. Olsen coordinated all player, staff, and front office media availability, developed feature content highlighting various aspects of the program and assisted with strategic social media campaigns and served as the lead communications voice for the club.
Prior to her stop with Indy Eleven, Olsen worked for nine-plus years in the public relations office for SMU athletics. While in Dallas, she served as the primary contact for the football and swimming & diving programs. Throughout her tenure at SMU, Olsen worked with the men's and women's soccer teams, women's golf and rowing.
Olsen started her career at Marian University in Indianapolis as a graduate assistant while obtaining her master's degree at Ball State in physical education.
Her career then led her to Morehead State where she worked as a media relations assistant for the Eagles soccer, softball and rifle programs.
Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Olsen is a 2009 graduate of Butler University with a degree in electronic media. While at Butler she was a member of the Bulldog soccer team (2005) and dance team (2005-2009).
