Texas State Launches Fundraising Campaign, “Light The Star: A Brighter Future for Texas State Athletics”

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State Athletics has officially launched "Light The Star," a $50 million comprehensive fundraising campaign designed to propel our program forward into a new era of collegiate athletics and position us for sustained success on a national stage.

The campaign focuses on five priorities:
  • Bobcat Club Excellence Fund – established after new NCAA legislation took effect earlier this year, the Excellence Fund directly supports essential resources like scholarships, revenue sharing, academic support, nutrition, etc.
  • Student-Athlete Wellness Center and Indoor Practice Facility – this new facility will feature support for all 370 of our student-athletes, including a new Academic Center and Training Table. The Indoor Practice Facility will provide a climate-controlled space to host workouts and other activities throughout the year
  • Baseball/Softball Player Development Center – dedicated to baseball and softball, this new facility will feature a state-of-the-art pitching lab, enhanced batting and training spaces, player locker rooms, and fan amenities
  • Endowment Support – growing our endowment ensures steady, long-term resources for our student-athletes, protected from shifting external pressures
  • Expanding Season Ticket Sales – building our season ticket holder base will help to grow our attendance at each of our venues and provide a foundation for a consistent and energetic gameday atmosphere
The campaign comes at a pivotal time as Texas State prepares for its official move to the Pac-12 Conference in July 2026. Increased investment in facilities, scholarships, revenue sharing, and operations will be essential to compete nationally.

"This is a defining moment for Texas State Athletics," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Don Coryell. "Light The Star is a call to action for every Bobcat to invest in the future of our programs."
