SAN MARCOS, Texas – In its last home match of the season, Texas State women's tennis dropped Saturday's back-and-forth match 4-3 against Louisiana.

The Bobcats (10-7, 4-5 Sun Belt) surrendered the doubles point and found themselves down 3-1 during the singles portion of the match.
Kiana Graham and
Callie Creath evened the score at 3-3 after winning their singles matches in straight sets. Graham was featured on court No. 1 and took her match 6-2, 6-2, while Creath was on court two and won her contest 6-2, 6-4.Â

The match point came down to the final set on court five between Texas State's
Andrea Pineda and Louisiana's Nina Krecklenberg. Pineda won the first set 7-5, after being down 4-2 to begin the set. After dropping the second set 6-3, Pineda battled back from a 5-2 deficit in the third set but came up short 6-4 in the end, giving the Ragin' Cajuns the 4-3 victory.Â

The Bobcats finished the year with five home wins, which is their most since 2017 when they went 5-4 in home matches.Â

The doubles point came down to the match on court three that featured Texas State's
Mae McCutcheon and
Jadeh Chan. McCutcheon and Chan dropped the set 6-4
, which gave Louisiana (8-10, 3-7 Sun Belt) a 1-0 lead heading into singles.Â

The Cajun's first win came on court two, when they defeated the Bobcat's
Emily Niers and
Emma Carr 6-2.Â

Sofia Fortuno and
Maria Lora were the lone Bobcats to win a doubles match, the pair won their set on the first court 6-2 and secured their ninth win of the year.Â

SinglesÂ
Emily Niers quickly evened the score 1-1 for the Bobcats with a straight set victory on court three to begin singles. Niers defeated Louisiana's Jenaila Prulla 6-1, 6-3 to earn her seventh singles win of the season.Â

The Ragin' Cajuns answered by winning matches on courts No. 6 and No. 4.
Jacqueline Schnabel made her conference debut for the Bobcats on court six and dropped her match in straight sets 6-2, 7-5.Â

Fortuno was featured on court three and dropped her match 6-4, 6-4, which gave Louisiana a 3-1 lead heading into the remaining three singles matches. Â

Graham won her third consecutive singles match on court one, when she defeated Louisiana's Carla Urchoeguia 6-2, 6-2.Â

On court two, Creath secured her 10th singles win of the season and tied the match at 3-3, when she defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.Â

Despite Pineda's best efforts on court five, she fell in three sets 7-5, 3-6, 6-4. This marked Pineda's fifth loss of the season and she moved to 11-5 overall in singles play. Â

The Bobcats travel to Monroe, Louisiana next week on April 20 to face ULM for their final match of the regular season. The match is set to start at 10 am.Â
