Late in the quarter the Bobcats went on a run, holding the Pioneers scoreless in the final three minutes of the first quarter to bring the game back within five. The Pioneers led 15-10 after one quarter.

The Bobcats were firing on all cylinders in the second quarter, though, outscoring Denver 22-11. Highlighting that showing was 9-18 shooting from the Bobcats, while limiting Denver to just 2-12 shooting. The Bobcats also outrebounded the Pioneers 12-7 in the second quarter. Harris led in scoring for the Bobcats in the first half with eight points. Heading into the break the Bobcats led 32-26, overcoming a five-point deficit from the first quarter.

Out of the halftime break, Denver came out the aggressors. Despite better shooting from the Bobcats in the final five minutes of the third, the Pioneers took a 42-41 lead into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was back and forth the whole way through. The two sides shot nearly identically, with the Bobcats going 6-13 and the Pioneers going 5-12. The difference ultimately came from the free throw line, where the Bobcats shot 10-12 to the Pioneers 8-10.
