About Texas State
The Bobcats enter Saturday's contest on a five-game winning streak that is tied for the 16th longest active streak in the nation. They are coming off a two-win week at home with victories over Arlington Baptist and Rice. TXST is off to its best start since the 2021-22 season when that squad began the campaign with a 9-2 record.

Kaden Gumbs leads the team in scoring (14.4), made field goals (51), field goal attempts (110), assists (42) and steals (17). The sophomore is second on the team and in the Sun Belt Conference with an 86.0% mark at the free throw line behind fellow teammate Joshua O'Garro (90.9%).

Both Tyrel Morgan (13.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg) and Tylan Pope (12.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg) are putting up over 12 points and six rebounds a contest. In his two games back from injury, Coleton Benson has knocked down six three-pointers with two in each contest. Drue Drinnon leads the team in three-point shooting at 56.3% having gone 18-for-32 from beyond the arc.

About Florida Atlantic
The Owls enter Saturday having won their last two games. Tuesday saw them defeat Jacksonville 85-63 at home and defeat rival FIU 88-77 on Dec. 4 in Miami. FAU is 2-1 at home this season that also saw the team beat Coastal Georgia and fall by two points to Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 30.

Kaleb Glenn leads the team in scoring (14.2) while shooting 60.2% (56-of-93) from the field and 41.0% (16-of-39) on three-pointers despite coming off the bench in every game. Leland Walker comes in scoring 11.3 ppg and Baba Miller is putting up 10.9 ppg along with a team-high 7.6 rpg and 13 blocks. Matas Vokietaitis is making a team best 69.8% (44-for-63) of his shots and is grabbing 5.5 rpg.

Series History
Texas State won the only previous meeting between the teams on Nov. 11, 2016 by a score of 61-57. It was the opening game of the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii that was contested at the 'Iolani School. The only players to score in double-figures for either team that day were Bobcats Kavin Gilder-Tilbury (19) and Nijal Pearson (18).

Bobcats in the Sunshine State
Saturday will be just the second-ever regular season game for Texas State to be played in the state of Florida. The only other contest was on Dec. 4, 1992 and saw the Bobcats defeat Miami 60-57. All-time, TXST is 7-4 when playing in the Sunshine State with a 6-4 record coming in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament over the last four years since it moved to Pensacola.
