Coach GJ Kinne
Super proud of the team going on the road and getting a victory against Troy, back-to-back champs is a huge deal. Just super proud of these guys and the way they played. For most of the game, lots of discipline and things that we had talked about. So, it's a good start in your own conference on the road. It's always a good feeling.
On
Tory Spears returning…
Having Tory back was huge for us, just emotionally, on the field, all of it, just a super leader. I thought he played really well from the sidelines, you know seeing what I can see, but I thought he played really well. And that felt good for me to get him back out there.
On the depth of the offense…
It felt great to just continue to spread the wealth and we got a bunch of playmakers that just make it tough on the defense. Should've run the ball there at the end and I'm the head coach and I take full responsibility for that. That's not the way we want to do things but hey, it's part of it, and we'll learn from it just like we always do.
Jordan McCloud
On today's game after coming off a loss…
That was a big win for us, we needed to come back. Obviously last week was heartbreaking for the team but we needed to move on, and we needed to play a full 4 quarters, and we did that today.
On having so many weapons on offense…
You know we got like 6 to 8 guys that can go at any time. You can keep them all fresh and just keep rotating them. Some games, some people are going to be hot, you know, some games it's just, you know that's the good part about all this. It's never just one guy, you have to focus on everybody.
The Play of Torrance Burgess Jr….
It was good, we went into the week knowing that, you know he's going to get some carries, great player, and he showed that today.
On the play of the defense…
They showed up in a big way. We put them in one bad position earlier on with the stop. But besides that, they did a really good job today.
On the 1-0 conference start…
1-0 and now 1-0 every week, now all of our focus is on Arkansas State for next Saturday.
