SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team will play 13 non-conference games during the 2023-24 campaign that was announced on Tuesday.
The Bobcats open the season with a meeting against former Sun Belt Conference member Little Rock on Nov. 6 in the Natural State's capital. That contest is followed by the previously announced contest at Miami (OH) as part of the MAC/SBC Challenge.
A trip to Oklahoma follows to take on the Sooners on Nov. 14. That contest is the first of three at a Big XII Conference member along with matchups versus Houston (Dec. 21) and Texas (Nov. 30).
Texas State will play in the Louisiana Tech MTE on Nov. 21 and 22. First up will be McNeese from the Thomas Assembly Center with a meeting with Southern Utah to conclude TXST's time in the Pelican State. It will be the second straight year that the Bobcats and Thunderbirds will meet in an MTE after TXST claimed a 78-65 victory in the 2022 Patty Mills North Shore Classic.
Two other road non-conference games on tap against former conference foes beginning with UT Arlington on Nov. 25. Texas State will also make a trip to Huntsville, Texas on Dec. 15 to face Sam Houston.
First time the Bobcats will play inside Strahan Arena will be Nov. 17 against I-35 rival UTSA. Next on the home slate is a meeting with Jarvis Christian on Dec. 11 and then host LeTourneau a week later. Texas State will also host a member of the Mid-American Conference on Feb. 10 as part of the MAC/SBC Challenge with the opponent to be announced in January.
