Texas State football's highly-anticipated 2023 season under new head coach GJ Kinne begins on the road in Waco, Texas against Baylor on Saturday. Texas State's 2023 roster consists of 53 new scholarship players, and 71 total newcomers (18 walk-ons), as Kinne and his entirely new coaching staff have put together the program's best newcomer class in its FBS history, according to 247Sports.

Volleyball improved to 2-1 on the year after collecting two three-set wins against Marist College and UT Martin at the Tennessee Classic to open the season. The Bobcats will now return to San Marcos to host the Texas State Invitational with matches against North Texas and #19 Houston.
