TROY, Ala. – Texas State tennis concluded their pair of weekend conference matches with a 5-2 loss to Troy at the Lunsford Tennis Complex on Sunday.
Kate Malazonia and
Mae McCutcheon walked away with wins in their singles matches.

Doubles
Texas State (5-14, 1-8) was unable to get an early start to the match after losing the doubles point.
Kate Malazonia and
Mae McCutcheon dropped the first match of the day 6-2 on the top court to Hagar Amin and Kristina Kukaras.

Troy (11-5, 4-3 Sun Belt) clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win over
Jadeh Chan and
Maria Lora on court three.
Sofia Fortuno and
Emily Niers were down 5-3 when play was stopped.

Singles
Troy clinched the match following three consecutive wins in singles against
Andrea Pineda,
Kiana Graham and
Sofia Fortuno. Pineda and Fortuno picked up their first losses of the weekend in straight sets.

In her third appearance on court three,
Mae McCutcheon put the Bobcats on the board after defeating Franziska Ahrend 6-2, 6-3. McCutcheon went 2-0 in singles on the weekend.

Emily Niers lost 6-0, 7-5 to Hagar Amin on line two to give the Trojans their fifth point of the match.

Kate Malazonia saw her first win of the weekend with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 victory against Valeriia Avdeeva on court three to give Texas State their final point of the match.
