SAN MARCOS, Texas – The first of 10 consecutive games at Bobcat Ballpark went against Texas State on Tuesday as UTSA took the game 11-2.

With the result, the Bobcats drop to 7-5 on the season while the Roadrunners are now 11-3.

Suffering the loss on the rubber was
Austin Smith (0-1) after giving up three runs on four hits.
Jack Stroud posted three scoreless frames and struck out two after being called on in an emergency as starter
Peyton Zabel had to leave after on batter due to an injury. McCray threw 1.1 innings without allowing a run.

August Ramirez finished the game 2-for-4 at the plate. Also recording a base knock was
Peyton Benesh,
Ryder Hernandez and
Damien Whitfield.

The Bobcats got on the board first in the second when
Cade Manning reached on a fielder's choice that brought home
Daylan Pena.

In the fourth, an RBI triple from Isaiah Walker tied the game. It was the first of 11 straight runs scored by the visitors over the next five innings.

A fielding error allowed
Rashawn Galloway to reach base and he would move up to second on a groundout to the first baseman. Whitfield hit a 2-2 offering to left center that saw a diving centerfielder nearly come up with the catch, but the ball hit the turf. The redshirt freshman hustled around to second for a double for his first collegiate hit that also brought in the final run of the game.
