This Week at Texas State: March 27, 2023

Volleyball hosts the reigning national champion Texas on Friday. Baseball hosts Arkansas State for a weekend series while softball is on the road at App State. Track and field will host their second meet of the year this weekend and will also compete at the Texas Relays. Tennis will see three matches this week, men's golf is competing at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate. Soccer will host Baylor on Sunday at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

Texas State lost their first game at Coastal Carolina and split Saturday's doubleheader to avoid the sweep. This week the Bobcats take a trip to South Texas to take on UTRGV on Tuesday, followed by hosting Arkansas State for a weekend series.

Softball found a win in their weekend series against South Alabama. Saturday's 6-2 win was the first Sun Belt victory. The Bobcats will host Baylor this week before traveling to play App State.

Chris Preddie posted the second-best men's long jump in the country this year while the reigning Sun Belt Athletes of the Week, Elisabet Runarsdottir and Grady Leonard, had school top-10 marks in the hammer throw for the second week in a row on day one of the Charles Austin Classic in San Marcos. Melanie Duron also set a freshman school record in the women's shot put. This week the Bobcats will host its second meet and also compete at the Texas Relays in Austin.  
 
Men's Golf
Sunday-Tuesday, March 26-28—Craft Farms Intercollegiate

Gulf Shores, Ala. 
 
Men's golf is competing at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This is the second time they will be playing in a tournament hosted by South Alabama this season. Texas State will also be competing against fellow conference member, Georgia State.

Following two road conference losses, tennis returns home for three matches. To start the week, the Bobcats host its last non-conference match against Brown, and then two conference matches including Marshall and App State. 
 
Volleyball

The Bobcats will face the reigning national champion Texas on March 31. The game will be free admission and attendees will be able to purchase gear and concessions at the game. 
 
Soccer
Sunday, April 2—vs. Baylor

With three spring games left, soccer hosts Baylor on Sunday at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
