SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State tennis (3-5) defeated Northwestern State (5-3) 4-3, it came down to the final match of the day where 
Kiana Graham clinched the win for the Bobcats in a tie-break set on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. 
 
"What a match, I am so proud of the team for gutting out another win," said Texas State tennis head coach 
Kendall Brooks. "We had to come from behind most of the day and I am proud of them for competing extremely hard. A lot of bright spots, but really impressed with Kiana finding a way to make that happen for us. Feels nice to be on the other side of 4-3 victory again." 
 
Doubles
Texas State dropped their seventh doubles point of the season. 
Kate Malazonia and 
Mae McCutcheon won their match on line one 6-3 against Tjasa Klevisae and Marielle Minetti. 
 
With 
Kiana Graham and 
Sofia Fortuno dropping their match 6-3 on line three, it came down to 
Jadeh Chan and 
Sofia Fortuno. Northwestern State clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory over Chan and Fortuno on court two. 
 
Singles 
Kate Malazonia put the Bobcats on the board after beating Dorota Szczygielska 7-5, 6-1 on court three. 
Sofia Fortuno evened the score 2-2 when she defeated Minetti 6-2, 7-5 for her second straight win on line six. 
 
The Lady Demons pulled ahead after Gig Kanaphuet topped 
Mae McCutcheon 7-5, 7-5 on court five. 
 
The last two matches came down to the top courts and both went to three sets. 
Emily Niers tied the match 3-3 after winning 7-5, 4-6, 6-0 on court two over Sofi Garcia. 
 
Kiana Graham cliched the match for the Bobcats after a come from behind win taking down Tjasa Klevisar 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (10-8). 
 
Up Next 
Texas State will host St. John's this Thursday, March 2 at 2 p.m. for their lone match of the week at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
