SAN MARCOS, Texas – After accounting for five touchdowns and throwing for over 300 yards in Texas State's win against Georgia Southern,
TJ Finley was named a Manning Award Star of the Week and to the Davey O'Brien Award's Great 8 List for Week 10 on Monday.

Finley picked up the national player of the week accolades after leading the Bobcats to a 45-24 win over the Eagles by completing 25 of his 31 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for two more scores as he matched his season-high for total touchdowns in a game.

Finley and the Bobcats clinched bowl eligibility with the 21-point victory, a first for Texas State since 2014.

This is the second time this season that Finley has picked up recognition from both awards. He was named a Manning Award Star of the Week and Davey O'Brien's Award Great 8 after the Bobcats' win over Baylor in week one.

Through nine games this year, Finley is ranked among the nation's leader in several categories, including passing yards (15th, 2,504 yards), passing touchdowns (21st, 18 TDs), completion percentage (14th, 69.4%) and points responsible for (20th, 140 points).

His total offensive output this year of 2,572 yards is currently the eighth-most in a single season in program history.
