What You Need to Know: Homecoming, SWT Throwback Set for First-Place Matchup

The Bobcats will wear SWT throwback uniforms for the first time since 2018

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Homecoming, SWT Throwback uniforms and much more are in store this Saturday as Texas State will face off against Troy in a matchup between two first-place teams at Bobcat Stadium. The 6 pm contest is presented by Texas First Rentals – Holt Cat.
 
The Homecoming game will feature giveaways and exciting things to watch for, including:
 
Rally Towel and STW/TXST Slap Banner Giveaway
Gates will open at 4:30 pm and the first few thousand fans will receive either a SuperCat rally towel, presented by Texas First Rentals – Holt Cat, or a SWT/TXST slap banner.
 
SWT Throwback Uniforms
For the first time since 2018, Texas State will wear full SWT throwback uniforms to honor the tradition of the program. Fans are encouraged to join the team by wearing their favorite SWT gear to the game.
 
Homecoming
The game between Texas State and Troy will cap a weeklong slate of activities for Homecoming. All week, students, alumni and the San Marcos community have participated in a pep rally, a spirit parade, talent show, university-wide decorating contests and more as part of the spirit campaign.
 
There is a special Alumni Tailgate with Royalty Court before the game from 3-5 pm. It will be located on the west side of Bobcat Stadium. Tickets for the tailgate are to be purchased in advance through the Texas State Alumni Association.
 
During the game, the 2023 Royalty Court, distinguished alumni and rising stars will be announced and recognized on the field.
 
Halftime Light Show
Fans will want to be in their seats towards the end of halftime to take part in the light show. First seen at the home game on Oct. 14, this weekend's edition will feature a new wrinkle that fans will want to experience.
 
Cat Walk in Tailgate Central
Fans can welcome the team to Bobcat Stadium with the Cat Walk tradition at 3:30 pm. The team will arrive in Lot 5 along Aquarena Springs Drive, and all fans are invited to cheer on the team as they enter the stadium on gameday.
 
Tailgate Central is Sold Out, Other Options Are Available
Tailgate Central is sold out for Saturday, but fans are welcome to set up their tailgates in two areas around Bobcat Stadium which include the Aquarena Field and UEC Field. These green spaces, which are free to tailgate in, offer plenty of space for fans and their gameday experience. Vehicle parking is not permitted in the Aquarena field or UEC green space, however, and fans are able to park for free in the Meadows Center and UEC lot before setting up their tailgate.
 
For those that already purchased Tailgate Central spots, the lot will open at noon. All vehicles need to enter Lot 5 along Aquarena Springs Drive while any exiting vehicles will do so along Charles Austin Drive.
 
Prepaid Parking
Fans are asked to purchase parking in advance at TXST.com/tickets. There are spots available in Lot 5, Mill Street and Thorpe Lane.
 
Parking is all digital this season, and passes can also be purchased at TXST.com/tickets. Fans are encouraged to download their digital parking passes to their phones before leaving for the stadium.
 
For tickets, fans can purchase prior to gameday at TXST.com/tickets or by visiting the Texas State Athletics Ticket Office through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. On gameday, fans can begin purchasing tickets from the Athletics Ticket Office near Gate 6 starting at noon.

Texas State and Troy are in a three-way tie for first place in the Sun Belt West Division. The game is a matchup between the Sun Belt's top offense (Texas State) and the top defense (Troy).
