SAN MARCOS, Texas – The second of three straight home games for the Texas State men's basketball team (10-10, 3-4 Sun Belt) takes place Saturday in Strahan Arena against Louisiana (15-4, 5-2 Sun Belt) at 4 p.m. Prior to the game, the court will be dedicated to Bobcat great Jeff Foster and the 1997 Southland Conference championship team will be recognized at halftime.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Brant Freeman and Suzanne Fox calling the action. Fans can also tune into KTSW 89.9 FM and the Varsity Sports Network app to listen to Clint Shields on the call.

TXST is looking to bounce back from its second straight loss after falling to Marshall by eight on Thursday. That game saw
Drue Drinnon (17),
Jordan Mason (10) and
Nate Martin (16) set career-highs in points. It was also the first time in Sun Belt Conference action that the Bobcats had surrendered more than 62 points.
Mason Harrell paces the team offensively at 16.2 ppg with 29 made three-pointers and 21 steals. He is eighth in program history in scoring at 1,373 points and needs 13 more to surpass Kavin Gilder-Tilbury for seventh place.
Behind Harrell, four Texas State players are putting up at least seven points a contest. Pacing the group is
Tyrel Morgan at 8.6 ppg and he is also second on the team with 6.2 rpg. Both
Nighael Ceaser (7.4 rpg) and
Nate Martin are netting 7.9 ppg while
Brandon Davis is adding 7.4 ppg.
Drinnon leads TXST in three-point shooting (38.8%) and assists (48). Mason has started the last six games and in that span is contributing 7.0 ppg on 45.5% shooting, 3.3 rpg, 1.7 apg and 1.2 spg.
About Louisiana
The Ragin' Cajuns come in on a five-game winning streak after dropping their first two conference games on the road to Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion. Louisiana is 6-4 in true road games this year and has eight wins overall away from home.
Jordan Brown, the Sun Belt's Preseason Player of the Year, leads the squad at 19.8 ppg, 141 made field goals, 90 made free throws and 27 blocks. He is also grabbing 7.8 rpg, has dished out 41 assists and recorded 14 steals. Fellow big man Terence Lewis II is shooting a team-high 64.2% from the field to contribute 11.8 ppg. He is also grabbing a team-high 8.1 rpg.
Also with a double-digit scoring average is Greg Williams, Jr. at 12.9 ppg. The senior guard has knocked down a team leading 41 treys and is shooting 45.6% from beyond the arc.
All-Time Series
Louisiana leads the all-time series 16-7. The Cajuns won 12 of the first 13 meetings with the lone win for Texas State in that time coming at home by a score of 61-57 on Feb. 20, 2016.
Since 2019, the Bobcats hold a 6-4 edge in the series. Last season saw the Bobcats win both regular season meetings but saw Louisiana knock them out in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Tournament.
TXST is 4-6 when hosting the Cajuns and have posted a 3-2 mark over the last five games dating back to 2019.
