Senior soccer player also represented El Salvador on the country's national team in 2022

SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the latest States Up podcast, Texas State soccer player Juana Plata shares about her El Salvadoran culture, what it means to represent El Salvador on its national soccer team, why she chose Texas State after starting her career at Lamar, and more.
 
Plata is in her first season as a Bobcat after spending the first four seasons of her collegiate career at Lamar. She was an All-Southland First Team selection with the Cardinals in 2019 and played in more than 60 career matches.
 
A Houston native, Plata played for El Salvador in the 2022 CONCACAF women's championship qualifiers. Plata, whose mother is from El Salvador, played in all four matches to help the team finish second in the group.
 
In this episode of the States Up podcast, Plata also discusses her role as a leader on the team despite being in her first year, where she finds El Salvador comfort food in San Marcos, and what she wants to do when her collegiate career is over at Texas State.
