Kickoff Luncheon Returns on August 24

Annual fundraiser features special guests and supports student-athlete scholarships

The Texas State Bobcat Club will host its annual Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday, August 24, in the LBJ Ballroom located in the LBJ Student Center on the Texas State campus.

The fundraiser luncheon will be emceed by Texas State broadcaster Brant Freeman, who will sit down with head football coach Jake Spavital, head volleyball coach Sean Huiet, and new head soccer coach Steve Holeman to discuss their programs. Additionally, Freeman will interview several student-athletes to hear more about their upcoming seasons.

The luncheon gets started with registration at 11:30 a.m. and the program getting underway at noon. A reserved table for eight guests can be purchased for $225, and individual tickets are also available for $30.

Texas State football returns 19 starters from last year's team and will start its fourth season under Spavital on September 3 at Nevada. The home opener is set for September 10 against FIU at Bobcat Stadium. Tickets to the home opener, which kicks off at 6 pm, along the entire six-game home schedule are available now.

Volleyball, which has made the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four seasons, gets its 2022 season under Huiet started on road in San Antonio and Hawaii before hosting Ole Miss, Wake Forest and Sam Houston at the Bobcat Invitational from September 9 to 11. The Bobcats return several key players, including All-American and Sun Belt Player of the Year Emily DeWalt and Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year Janell Fitzgerald. Fans can support the Bobcats all season long with season tickets to the 11-match schedule, which are available now.

Under the new leadership of Holeman, women's soccer opens its season at Bobcat Soccer Complex with a match against St. Mary's on Thursday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. In all, the Bobcats will host 11 home matches this season, each of which feature free admission.
