MONROE, La. – The Texas State men's basketball team (17-6, 8-3 Sun Belt) held ULM (13-13, 5-9 Sun Belt) to just 35.8% from the field and 22.7% from three-point range in a 63-54 victory Saturday afternoon in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The win is the fifth straight for the Bobcats and the 16th consecutive in the month of February.

TXST jumped out to a 7-2 lead behind three-pointers from
Shelby Adams and
Isiah Small. The lead would be in the Bobcats favor until the Warhawks went on a 13-4 run to go up by four with just under nine minutes left in the first half.

Twice Texas State was able to tie the game but it wasn't until it scored seven straight points near the end of the half that was capped off by an old-fashion three-pointer play by
Shelby Adams that put the visitors back ahead with 59 seconds left until halftime. A layup from ULM's Russell Harrison was the final bucket of the period to cut the lead to 30-29 after 20 minutes.

Eleven of the first 13 points of the second half was scored by the Bobcats which gave them a 10-point lead, their largest of the game. The TXST defense held ULM at bay, not allowing the home team to get closer than five the rest of the game.

Adams led the Bobcats with 17 points, tying his career-high, on 6-of-8 shooting with two made treys and knocking down all three of his free throw attempts.

Small contributed 15 points as he went 6-for-11 from the field, knocked down two shots from beyond the arc and blocked two shots. The super senior forward finished with four rebounds to give him 503 in his career and become the 21 Texas State player to surpass the 500-career rebound mark.

Mason Harrell finished the afternoon with 12 points, nine coming in the first half, and matched his career-high of seven rebounds. He also dished out two assists and recorded a steal.
