SAN MARCOS, Texas – After drilling the game-winning field goal in the closing seconds of the victory over Arkansas State, Texas State's Seth Keller was named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for week 12, the conference office announced.
 
Keller picked up his second weekly honor of the season and third of his career by accounting for 10 of Texas State's 16 points this past Saturday, including the decisive three on the field goal with two seconds remaining. The Bobcats were forced to overcome a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter, and Keller lifted the team with a go-ahead 49-yard field goal with three minutes remaining in the contest and then the game-winner.
 
The 49-yard field goal was a career-long for Keller.
 
A native of Colleyville, Texas, Keller finished the night 3-of-3 on field goals, which matched his season-high for successful attempts. He also had the extra point on a rushing touchdown by Lincoln Pare in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 10-10.
 
The game-winner for Keller was a moment of redemption as he missed a possible game-winning field goal in the final seconds of the game at ULM two weeks ago. The Bobcats lost that matchup in Monroe, 31-30.
 
Keller is 12-of-14 on field goals this season and 27-of-27 on extra point attempts. The Lou Groza Award Watch List selection is one successful field goal shy of matching the Texas State all-time record for career makes. He has 35 career field goals made in three seasons.
 
He is also the current leader in Texas State history for best career field goal percentage (85.37 percent; 35-of-41).
 
Texas State will wrap up its 2022 season on Saturday at home when it hosts Louisiana for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.
