ATLANTA, Ga. — On its first road trip to the state of Georgia since the 2018-19 season, the Texas State women's basketball program earned a road sweep of the two Georgia universities in the Sun Belt Conference's East Division following a 73-55 win at Georgia State.
The win for Texas State on Saturday came less than 48 hours after the Bobcats earned a win at Georgia Southern and also capped an explosive two-game stretch for senior forward
Da'Nasia Hood, who finished the week with 58 points and 19 rebounds for a 29.0 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game average.
Hood, a game after scoring a career-high 32 points at Georgia Southern, tied her career high with 14 rebounds to go along with 26 points scored.
Kennedy Taylor joined Hood with a double-double as the guard finished the game with 15 points and a season-high 10 assists. Taylor's performance marked the first career double-double for the senior.
Lauryn Thompson came just one point and one rebound shy of making Saturday's game the second time this season the Bobcats had three student-athletes with double-doubles as the forward finished with nine points and nine rebounds.
FROM HEAD COACH ZENARAE ANTOINE
"What I was most impressed with today was the focus of the team, the understanding and the shift we made as a coaching staff to really get our team to become more disciplined and locking in and not just to the scout but making the adjustments immediately when we need to. We've found, from one game to the next, that Georgia Southern is a phenomenal team and I really feel like that gave up enough confidence coming into this venue today and play Georgia State, which has a lot of really good players."
