Texas State Athletics Fall Update

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State University is planning for a safe, vibrant university experience this fall while continuing to navigate the challenges related to COVID-19.  Our football, soccer, and volleyball teams have started practice, and we are eagerly anticipating the return of full capacity at all our scheduled sporting events.

We are excited for the fall season and want to remind Bobcat fans of your personal responsibility to educate yourself about prevention strategies to reduce the infection and spread of COVID-19 in our Bobcat community.  If you develop cold-like or other COVID-19 symptoms, Texas State asks that you stay home and get tested, regardless of vaccination status.

We are mindful that COVID-19 infections are on the rise. While Texas State University does not require vaccinations or the wearing of face masks, we strongly recommend getting vaccinated and the wearing of face coverings in indoor public settings on our campuses, regardless of vaccination status. We also suggest that fans consider wearing masks outside if gathering in large groups.

We love our Bobcat community and want everyone to stay safe and healthy.  Therefore, face masks and cleansing products will be made available to anyone wishing to obtain those items at Athletics events.

We look forward to seeing you at the women's soccer exhibition match against UTSA today at 7:30 p.m., the volleyball home opener, Friday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. against Alabama, and on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. when football takes on the Baylor Bears.
