AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas State tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 2 Texas Tuesday afternoon at the Texas Tennis Center.
 
The Bobcats are now 5-8 on the season, while the nationally ranked Longhorns improve to 17-1 this season.
 
The Longhorns won the doubles point after Simran Kortikere and Gabby Cusano defeated 
Sofia Murcia-Rodriguez and 
Renata Gonzalez on court No. 3, 6-2, and Lulu Sun and Marta Perez Mur knocked off 
Nikita Pradeep and 
Chacadyah Israel-Lewis, 6-3 on the second court.
 
UT's Fernanda Labrana blanked C. Israel-Lewis on the fourth singles flight to register the home team's second point, and No. 72 Sun defeated 
Rishona Israel-Lewis on singles court No. 2, 6-3, 6-1. The Longhorns clinched the match with Mur topping Murcia-Rodriguez on the fifth court, 6-3, 6-2.
 
Texas State will play at Prairie View A&M at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31 before jumping back into Sun Belt Conference play at Louisiana (April 3) and at ULM (April 4).
