SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team will host a familiar foe on Wednesday night when the Lamar Cardinals visit Strahan Arena in a non-conference game that tips off at 7 p.m.
Texas State (7-2) looks to win its seventh straight game and ninth consecutive home game following last Sunday's victory over Southwestern.
BOBCATS CONTINUE HOMESTAND
Texas State's game against Lamar is the third contest of a four-game homestand. The Bobcats began the homestand with a 71-58 victory over Denver and a 101-54 triumph over Southwestern. After the Lamar game, Texas State closes out the homestand against Paul Quinn on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Caleb Asberry leads the team with 15.0 points, while
Isiah Small averages 12.0 points, and
Mason Harrell chips in 11.3 points per game. In addition, Small leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING LAMAR
Lamar is in its first year under head coach Alvin Brooks and has a 2-8 overall record. The Cardinals are playing their eighth road game of the season. Their victories came at home against Wiley on Nov. 9 and Our Lady of the Lake on Dec. 5.
SERIES HISTORY
Texas State and Lamar will meet for the 60
th time in a series that began on Dec. 8, 1950. The Bobcats enter Wednesday night with a 30-29 record against the Cardinals after winning the last three games in the series. Texas State won the last conference game between the two schools in 2013, and defeated Lamar on Nov. 19, 2014, in San Marcos. The last meeting was in the Collegeinsider.com Tournament at Strahan Arena on Mar. 16, 2017.
