SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas State men's basketball team returns to action this Sunday afternoon when the Bobcats host Southwestern University at 4 p.m. in Strahan Arena.
A LOOK AT THE BOBCATS
The Bobcats (6-2) enter Sunday's game with a five-game winning streak after defeating Denver 71-58 on Dec. 5 in Strahan Arena. Texas State began the winning streak with victories over Dixie State and Eastern Washington in the Good Sam Empire Classic at Northridge, Calif. The Bobcats defeated LeTourneau in their first home game on Nov. 24 and at Rice on Nov. 30.
TEXAS STATE IN STRAHAN ARENA
Texas State is 2-0 in home games following victories over LeTourneau and Denver. After Sunday's contest against Southwestern, the Bobcats play two more non-conference home games against Lamar on Dec. 15 and Paul Quinn on Dec. 17 before traveling to No. 14-ranked Houston on Dec. 22.

Caleb Asberry leads the Bobcats with 14.4 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.
Mason Harrell averages 12.5 points and 2.3 assists, while
Isiah Small chips in 10.7 points and leads the Bobcats with 7.4 rebounds per game.
Shelby Adams has enjoyed a memorable week during the past seven days. Last Sunday, he scored a season-high 14 points to lead the Bobcats in scoring during the win over Denver. On Friday, he marched in graduation ceremonies earning his bachelor's degree in general studies during the 2021 fall semester. Adams enters the Southwestern game averaging 9.0 points per game.
SCOUTING SOUTHWESTERN
Southwestern University enters Sunday's game with a 3-6 mark after defeating Birmingham Southern 78-76 on a last-second shot at the Trinity Thanksgiving Classic. The Pirates also beat Howard Payne, 88-76, on Nov. 16, and McMurray, 87-85, on Nov. 12.
Kyle Poerschke leads the Pirates in scoring and rebounding with 18.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. In addition, Josh Jones leads Southwestern in assists with a 3.0 average and steals with 1.7 per contest.
SERIES HISTORY
Texas State and Southwestern meet in a regular-season game for the first time since Dec. 13, 1997, when the Bobcats won 73-55. Texas State owns a 33-23 record against the Pirates in a series that began with a pair of games in 1920-21.
