SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas State football team signed its first three players in its 2021 recruiting class on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. Signing with the Bobcats were graduate transfers Charles Fletcher and Eric Sutton, along with junior college transfer DeOnte Washington.
A native of Greenville, N.C, Fletcher is an offensive lineman who comes to Texas State from North Carolina State with two years of eligibility remaining.
Sutton is a defensive back who transfers to Texas State from SMU. He was a named a three-star recruit by
247Sports.com coming out of high school. Sutton played in 37 games with five starts throughout his career with the Mustangs before sitting out last season.
Washington is a defensive lineman who comes to Texas State from Independence Community College after playing his freshman season at Riverside City College in California. A native of Colorado Springs, he was a high school teammate of current Texas State sophomore tight end
Micah Hilts. He will be a sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining at Texas State.
