Men's Basketball Plays Final Home Game Against Louisiana

The Texas State men's basketball team (21-6, 10-4 in the Sun Belt) plays its final home game in the regular season when the Bobcats host Louisiana on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Strahan Arena.
 
Texas State enters Saturday's game looking to win its fifth game in the last six outings and 11th home game of the season after dropping a 63-60 decision against ULM last Thursday night. Following the loss, the Bobcats are tied for first place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with 10-4 league record.
 
Texas State will be honoring three senior members of the team on Saturday. They are student manager Carrington Rodriguez, guard Tre'Larenz Nottingham and forward Alex Peacock.
 
Louisiana (16-10, 7-6 in the Sun Belt) enters Saturday's game having won the last three contests after defeating UTA 76-64 last Thursday in Arlington. The Ragin' Cajuns also beat Georgia State 76-72 on Feb. 8 and ULM 83-76 on Feb. 16.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS
Texas State's 21-6 record marks the first time that the Bobcats have won 21 games during the regular season since 1993-94 when the Bobcats had 22 regular season wins en route to a 25-7 record. The Bobcats' 10-4 Sun Belt Conference record is their best league record through 14 games since joining the league in 2013-14.
 
Nottingham led the Bobcats with 22 points against ULM and ranks 17th among Sun Belt Conference scoring leaders (14.0 ppg) and third in three-point shooting (32.9 percent). He also is tied with teammate Jaylen Shead for ninth place among Sun Belt leaders in steals (1.3 per game).
 
Peacock averages 8.3 points per game and ranks 13th among Sun Belt Conference rebounding leaders (6.3 rpg).

Nijal Pearson averages 18.1 points per game (No. 8 in Sun Belt), 1.4 steals (No. 7 in Sun Belt), second in three-point shooting (40.1 percent), 11th in field-goal shooting (44.4 percent).
 
Eric Terry enters the Louisiana game having scored in double figures in each of the last two games after netting career highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds against ULM. He also tallied 12 points at Little Rock on Feb. 16. 

Shead sits atop the Sun Belt Conference with a 2.7 assists-to-turnover ratio, ranks third in assists (5.0 per game) and is tied for No.9 in steals (1.3 per game).
 
ABOUT THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
Louisiana averages 82.7 points per game on offense to rank second among Sun Belt teams. The Ragin' Cajuns also are last in scoring defense, giving up 81.6 points per game.
 
Senior forward Jakeenan Gant leads the Ragin' Cajuns with 20.6 points (No. 4 in Sun Belt) on 54,2 percent shooting from the floor (No. 2 in Sun Belt) and grabs 8.7 rebounds per game (No. 2 in the Sun Belt). He leads the Sun Belt in blocked shots (2.9 per game).
