Texas State Football Travels To Coastal Carolina

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State football team plays its final game of the 2019 season when the Bobcats travel to Conway, S.C., for a Sun Belt Conference game at Coastal Carolina on Saturday, Nov. 30. ESPN+ will show the game beginning at 11 a.m. (Central).
 
Texas State (3-8, 2-6 Sun Belt) enters the game looking to win its first road game of the season after suffering a 35-13 loss at No. 23/24 Appalachian State on Nov. 23 The loss came after the Bobcats split their final two home games of the season against South Alabama (won 30-28) on Nov. 9  and Troy (lost 63-27) on Nov. 16.
 
Coastal Carolina (4-7, 1-6 Sun Belt) enters Saturday's game looking to bounce back from three straight losses at ULM (45-42) on Nov. 23, against Louisiana (48-7) on Nov. 16 and at Arkansas State (28-27) on Nov 9. The Chanticleers defeated Troy (36-25) on Nov. 2.

SETTING THE SCENE
Saturday's game will be the final game of the 2019 season for both Texas State and Coastal Carolina. The Bobcats will have 22 seniors participating in their final collegiate game. The 22 seniors include Malik Alley, Aaron Brewer, Nikolas Daniels, Ishmael Davis, Frankie Griffin, LeDarrius Harris, Mason Hays, Kumonde Hines, Clifton Lewis Jr.., John Lilly, Bryan London II, Alvin Pacheco, Jacob Rowland, Joshua Rowland, Jalen Smith, David Tachie, Anthony D. Taylor, Anthony J. Taylor, JaShon Waddy, Justin Warner, Lincoln Warren and Hutch White.
 
Bryan London II needs to record three tackles to break the school record for most tackles in a career. London enters the game with 445 tackles, two behind Greg Pitts (1999-02). He also needs four solo tackles to pass Pitts for second place on Texas State's career list.
 
Anthony J. Taylor needs to break up one pass to move into sole possession of Texas State's singles season record for most breakups in a season. Taylor enters the game tied with Craig Mager (2011), Nicholas Jack (1995) and Bobby Watkins (1980) for the single-season record with 12 breakups this season.
 
Taylor has 22 pass breakups in his career (2016-19) and needs three pass breakups to tie Epsil Williams (2003-06) and Jack (1994-96) for fourth place on Texas State's career records list. He needs four breakups to tie Darryl Morris (2008-12) and Kendall Jones (1998-01) for second place on the list.
 
Hutch White has 60 pass receptions this season, and that ties him with Cameron Luke (2007) and K.R. Carpenter (2003) for fourth place on Texas State's single-season list. He needs six catches to pass Da'Marcus Griggs (2010) for third place on the list. He needs 14 receptions to pass Luke (2008) on the list.
 
SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
Nikolas Daniels recorded a game-high 11 tackles at No. 24-ranked Appalachian State to mark the fourth double-digit total this season. He also tallied a season-best 14 tackles at Arkansas State, 11 stops against Wyoming, and 10 tackles against South Alabama. Daniels ranks ninth among Sun Belt Conference leaders with 7.7 tackles per game.
 
London II also had 10 tackles to mark the sixth time that he has logged 10 or more tackles. He ranks third among Sun Belt leaders with 104 tackles this season. It marks the third time in his career London II has logged 100 tackles in a season. He also had 141 tackles in 2016 and 109 tackles in 2018.
 
Senior kicker Joshua Rowland kicked a pair of 48-yard field goals at No. 23/24-ranked Appalachian State. It marks the first time that he has kicked two 40-yard field goals in a game this season. It was the third time this year that Rowland has made multiple field goals in a game. He connected on three field goals against Georgia State and South Alabama. Rowland enters the Coastal Carolina game having converted five straight field goal attempts.
 
Senior Aaron Brewer has been a constant fixture on Texas State's offensive line in the last four seasons. He looks to start his 47th consecutive game at Coastal Carolina.
 
SCOUTING CHANTICLEERS
Coastal Carolina enters Saturday's game with six of its 11 games being decided by eight points or less, including a 12-7 victory at Kansas on Sept. 7 and a 36-35 win against Troy on Nov. 2. The Chanticleers opened the season with a 30-23 loss against Eastern Michigan on Aug. 31, a 30-27 triple-overtime loss against Georgia Southern on Oct 19, a 28-27 setback at Arkansas State on Nov. 16 and a 45-42 loss at ULM last Saturday. 
 
Coastal Carolina looks to snap a three-game skid against Texas State. The three losses came against Louisiana (48-7) on Nov. 7, at Arkansas State and ULM.
 
Senior Ky'Jon Tyler needs to record 32 receiving yards to become the 11th Chanticleer to record 1,000 receiving yards in a season.
 
The ground attack is led by junior running back CJ Marable, who has rushed for 964 yards and he needs 36 yards to become the fourth Coastal Carolina running back to reach the 1,000-yard plateau.
