SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State football team (2-5, 1-2 in Sun Belt) travels to Lafayette, La. for a Sun Belt Conference game against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns (5-2, 2-1 in Sun Belt) at 4 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Cajun Field. The Bobcats are looking to even their conference record at 2-2.

SETTING THE SCENE
The Bobcats enter the game having split their last four games. Texas State dropped back-to-back decisions against ULM (24-14) on Oct. 10 and at Arkansas State (38-14) on Oct. 26. Those two losses came after the Bobcats won back-to-back games against Georgia State on Sept. 21 and Nicholls on Sept. 28.
The Bobcats feature two of the top defensive players in Sun Belt Conference in senior linebackers
Bryan London II and
Nikolas Daniels.
London II enters the Louisiana game with 408 career tackles and ranks third in the Sun Belt Conference with 9.6 tackles per game this season. He has tallied 10 tackles in three of the last five games with 11 against ULM, a career-high 22 against Georgia State and 10 at SMU.
Daniels ranks seventh among Sun Belt Conference leaders with 8.1 tackles per game. He is fourth among Sun Belt leaders with 8.5 tackles for loss, and fifth in Sun Belt leaders with 4.0 sacks per game. He also leads the Bobcats with three quarterback hurries.
Ishmael Davis had his best game of the year at Arkansas State when he recorded his first two sacks of the season, netted 2.5 tackles for loss, and forced a fumble. Davis enters the Louisiana game with 31 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and three hurries.
Senior safety
JaShon Waddy recorded a season-high of 10 tackles at Arkansas State.
Junior running back
Caleb Twyford leads Texas State in rushing with 448 yards and two touchdowns on 95 carries. Twyford made his sixth consecutive start at running back and rushed for 76 yards and a TD on 16 carries at Arkansas State. He had a season-long 60-yard run against the Red Wolves.
Senior wide receiver
Hutch White ranks third in the Sun Belt Conference with 36 receptions for 283 yards and one touchdown this season. He caught his touchdown pass at Arkansas State.
Sophomore
Tyler Vitt made his second start of the season at Arkansas State and completed 15 of 27 passes for 146 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.
Senior
Aaron Brewer has been a constant fixture on Texas State's offensive line in the last three seasons. He enters the Louisiana game having made 42 consecutive starts.
SCOUTING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
Louisiana enters Saturday's game after an off week and a win at Arkansas State (37-20) on Oct. 17. The Ragin' Cajuns have won two of their three Sun Belt Conference games after falling 17-7 against No. 28-ranked Appalachian State and winning 37-24 against Georgia Southern.
Louisiana is averaging 38.0 points per contest through six games in 2019, the 15th most in FBS. Louisiana scored 77 points against Texas Southern on Sept. 14, the most points in a single game in school history. Louisiana's 28 points against Mississippi State were the most against a Power 5 opponent since the 2015 season.
Louisiana is averaging 282.2 yards per contest in 2019, the third most yards per game in FBS and the most in the Sun Belt Conference.
SERIES HISTORY
Texas State enters Saturday night looking to win its first game against the Ragin' Cajuns. The two schools will meet for the seventh time overall and fourth time at Cajun Field in a series that began on Oct. 5, 2013, at Louisiana. The Bobcats also played at Louisiana on Oct. 10, 2015, and Oct. 12, 2017.
