SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State football team (2-4, 1-1 in Sun Belt Conference) returns to action this week when the Bobcats travel to Jonesboro, Ark. for a Sun Belt Conference game against Arkansas State (2-3, 1-2 in Sun Belt Conference). The game kicks off at 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Centennial Bank Stadium and will be shown on ESPN+.

SETTING THE SCENE
- After winning two of its last three home games, the Bobcats leave the State of Texas for the first time this season when they travel to Arkansas State. Texas State is looking for its first road win of the season after falling at Texas A&M on Aug. 29 and at SMU on Sept. 14.
- Arkansas State enters Saturday night's game after falling 37-20 against Louisiana in Jonesboro on Oct. 17. It was the second straight loss for the Red Wolves after they fell 52-38 at Georgia State on Oct. 5. The Red Wolves opened Sun Belt Conference play winning 50-43 at Troy on Sept. 28.
Scouting Texas State
- The Bobcats are coming off a disappointing effort when Texas State fell 24-14 against ULM on Oct. 10 in a Thursday night game. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak in which Texas State won a Sun Belt Conference game 37-34 in triple overtime against Georgia State and a 24-3 triumph versus Nicholls.
-Texas State will play its first Sun Belt Conference road game in 2019 when the Bobcats travel to
Arkansas State. The Bobcats enter the game after posting a 1-3 record in Sun Belt road games during each of the last two seasons. Texas State won games at Coastal Carolina in 2017 and Georgia State in 2018.

Bryan London II headlined Texas State's defense with 11 tackles, giving him 400 career tackles. London II is one of three Bobcats to record 400 career tackles. He tied current New York Giant
David Mayo's school record for most tackles in a Texas State FBS game when he logged 22 total tackles against Georgia State. London had 10 solo tackles and assisted on 12 other stops against the Panthers.
- In his second season as a starter, senior linebacker
Nikolas Daniels ranks second among Texas State's leaders with 7.2 tackles per game. He also is tied for the team lead with three quarterback hurries after he tallied one against ULM. Daniels led the Bobcats with nine tackles against Nicholls after recording nine stops versus Georgia State.

Seamus O'Kelly recorded a pair of 50-yard punts against ULM and is averaging 38.1 yards on 38 punts this season after recording seven punts for a 44.3 average against ULM. He has placed 12 punts inside the 20 and had 15 boots result in fair catches.
- Senior wide receiver
Hutch White enters the Arkansas State game ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference with 5.7 receptions per game this season. He recorded 17 receptions in the last four games with three catches against ULM, four receptions against Nicholls and Georgia State, and six at SMU. White had a season-high 10 receptions for 96 yards against Wyoming after catching seven passes for 60 yards at Texas A&M. White's 34 catches this season equal his total for the entire 2018 season when he led the Bobcat wide receivers with 34 catches.
SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES
- Arkansas State 2-2 non-conference record gives the Red Wolves a .500 or better non-conference mark for the second consecutive season, third time under head coach Blake Anderson and fifth time over the last nine seasons. A-State posted a winning non-conference record (3-1) last season for the first time since 1995 (3-2).
- Running Back Marcel Murray leads the Red Wolves in rushing with 358 yards and one touchdown on 68 carries. Murray gained 164 yards on 35 carries against Louisiana. He also rushed for 58 yards and touchdown against Georgia State after sitting out the previous three games.
- Senior Omar Bayless leads the nation in receiving yards and touchdown receptions as he enters Saturday night with 53 catches for 993 yards and 10 touchdowns. Bayless has set a school record with six 100-yard receiving games.
- Preseason All-Sun Belt First-Team selection Kirk Merritt had 37 catches for 424 yards and seven TDs.
- Redshirt freshman Lane Hatcher has thrown for 1,095 yards and 10 touchdowns this season after taking over the starting quarterback duties. Hatcher has thrown for over 300 yards and two touchdowns in two of his three starts this season. He completed 23 of 34 passes for 303 yards and TDs against Louisiana. He had a season-high of 440 yards passing and four touchdowns against Troy and also had four TD passes against Georgia State.
- On the defensive side of the ball, B.J. Edmonds leads the Red Wolves with 52 tackles. He has one interception and six pass breakups. Darreon Jackson has 50 stops, 2.0 tackles for loss, and returned one interception 51 yards.
SERIES HISTORY
-Texas State looks to win its first game at Arkansas State since the series began in 2013, the year the Bobcats joined the Sun Belt Conference.
-The Bobcats have a 1-5 record against Red Wolves. Texas State's lone win in the series came on Nov. 20, 2014, in San Marcos.
-This game marks the first time that Texas State and Arkansas State have played before November. The earliest date that two teams previously met was Nov. 16 during the 2013 campaign.
