SAN MARCOS, Texas –Texas State Director of Track and Field/Cross Country
Jody Stewart announced the 2018 cross country schedule on Tuesday. The slate features three regular season meets before competing at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.

The Bobcats' first meet is on Aug. 31 in Waco, Texas for the Bear Twilight Invite. It will be the third consecutive year that TXST has opened the season at the meet, which takes place at the HOT Soccer Complex.

Following a 22-day break, the Bobcats will compete in the 30
th Annual Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Every year that meet features over 80 collegiate teams. Last year saw the men come in third led by
Joseph Meade's 12
th place finish while the women were 10
th with five runners finishing in the top 100.

The last meet of the regular season takes Texas State to College Station, Texas for the Arturo Barrios Invitational. It is going to be ran at the Watts Cross Country Course, a premier cross country course in the Lone Star State.

On October 27, the Bobcats will compete at the Sun Belt Conference Championships with South Alabama hosting the competition. The women will be looking to defend their title while the men look to improve on back-to-back third place finishes.

A return trip to College Station is on tap for November 9 for the South Central Regional Championships. The NCAA Championships takes place eight days later in Madison, Wisconsin should the men's and/or women's squads qualify.
