LAFAYETTE, La. – The Texas State baseball team saw its season come to a close with a 10-0 loss to Troy in the semifinals of the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Championship Saturday evening at Russo Park.

The sixth-seeded Bobcats (30-28-1) were able to reach the 30-win plateau for the 15th time in the
Ty Harrington era and advance to the conference semis for the fourth time in five years since joining the league. The No. 3-seeded Trojans (41-18) moved on to the finals and will face No. 1 Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Seniors
Luke Sherley and
Dylan Paul both had a hit in their final collegiate games. Sherley stepped on the field for the 221st career time, setting the school record for most games played.

Junior
Anthony Pagano (2-1) suffered his first loss of the year on the mound after conceding four runs (three earned) on six hits in 4.0 innings. He struck out three and walked two. Classmate
Kyle Bradford tossed an inning and allowed one run on one hit. Sophomore
Broc Bosse conceded two runs one on hit, while recording one out. Junior
Braden Pearson went 1.2 frames and gave up just one run on one hit.

Cam Baird took the mound in his final career game. The Bobcats also saw the final games of seniors
Derek Scheible,
Jared Huber and
Mickey Scott.

Daren Osby (7-1) went the distance for Troy, allowing no runs on two hits in 8.0 innings. He struck out eight and walked none.

Matt Sanders finished 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored for the Trojans. Drew Frederic was 2-for-3 with two runs, while Joey Denison and Brandon Lockridge both had three RBIs. Manning Early scored twice.
