SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State women's tennis team suffered its third straight loss when the Bobcats dropped a 4-1 decision against ULM on Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
 
Texas State's lone point in the match came when Joy Chia Ming Ming defeated Bianca Koen in straight sets by a score of 6-4, 6-0.
 
The Warhawks opened the match claiming the doubles point after winning two of the three matches. First, Rishona Israel Lewis and Alex Jones fell 6-0 against Stefana Andrei and Karolina Snita in the top seeded match. Chia Ming Ming and Sofia Murcia Rodriguez also suffered a 6-2 loss Bianca Koen and Madalina Grigoriu on the No. 3 court.
 
ULM also won three singles matches to clinch the victory. Jones suffered a 6-0, 6-2 loss in her No. 4 match against Karolina Silwankowicz. Ana Perez had a 6-0, 6-1 setback against Andrei in the top-seeded match, and Israel-Lewis fell 6-1, 6-4 against Snita on the No. 2 court.
 
The loss drops Texas State's record to 4-12 this season, while ULM improved to 9-6. The Bobcats return to action on Sunday morning when they host UT Arlington at 10 a.m.
