The Texas State football team plays its second road game of the season and closes out its non-conference schedule when the Bobcats play the Wyoming Cowboys of the Mountain West Conference on Sept. 30 at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyo. The game kicks off at 3 p.m. (Central) and will be televised on Facebook Live/Stadium TV.

Texas State enters the game looking for its second win of the 2017 season after falling 44-14 against UTSA in the H-E-B I-35 Showdown last Saturday at Bobcat Stadium. The Bobcats are 1-3 this season after opening the year with a 20-11 victory over Houston Baptist before suffering a 37-3 loss at Colorado on Sept. 9 and a 20-13 loss versus Appalachian State on Sept. 16.

Wyoming enters Saturday's game with a 2-2 record following a 28-21 victory in overtime against Hawai'i on Sept. 23. The Cowboys opened the season with a 24-3 loss at Iowa before beating Gardner-Webb 27-0 in their home opener and suffering a 49-17 setback against Oregon.

SERIES HISTORY
This marks the third time that Texas State and Wyoming meet on the gridiron. The Bobcats enter Saturday's game with a 1-1 series record against the Cowboys. Wyoming won the first meeting, 45-10, in Laramie on Sept. 10, 2011.

The last time the two teams met, Texas State won, 42-21, in San Marcos on Sept. 28, 2013, in a game that featured a three-hour rain delay.

THE HEAD COACHES
Head coach
Everett Withers is in his second season at Texas State and his fifth season overall as a head coach. Withers enters the Wyoming game with a 28-26 career record after the Bobcats opened the 2017 season with a 1-3 mark. A graduate of Appalachian State, Withers served one season as an interim head coach at North Carolina and coached at James Madison in 2014 and 2015 before coming to Texas State.

Head coach Craig Bohl is in his fourth season at Wyoming and 15th year overall as a head coach with a career record of 119-58. Bohl went to Wyoming after coaching at North Dakota State for 11 years and leading the Bison to three consecutive NCAA Division I FCS national championships.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS
Texas State looks to win its first road game since opening the 2016 season with a 56-54 triple overtime victory at Ohio in
Everett Withers' debut at Texas State. The Bobcats fell at Colorado earlier this season after dropping their final five road game last season at No. 24 Arkansas, Georgia State, ULM, Appalachian State and New Mexico State.

Texas State enters the Wyoming game tied for the lead among Sun Belt Conference teams and ranked 18th nationally with 3.0 quarterback sacks per game. The Bobcats are tied with ULM and New Mexico State for the Sun Belt lead. Texas State recorded a season-high six sacks against Houston Baptist and three sacks at Colorado. The six sacks against HBU is the most by the Bobcats since Dec. 1, 2012 when they had six sacks against New Mexico State.

Frankie Griffin leads the Bobcats with 2.5 sacks.

Texas State is also ranked among the top five teams in the Sun Belt in rushing and total defense after surrendering 385.0 total yards and 155.8 rushing yards per game. The Bobcats rank 69th among NCAA teams in total defense and 76th in rushing defense.

The Bobcats rank 18th nationally and are tied with four Sun Belt teams with one blocked kick this season after leading the nation in blocked kicks with eight in 2016. Texas State's blocked kick came against Houston Baptist when
Easy Anyama blocked an extra-point attempt.

Gabe Loyd was named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation's Campbell Trophy® on Sept. 27. A two-year team captain, Loyd was named to the 2016-17 Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll and Texas State Dean's list two times, earned Texas State's "Cream of the Crop" Award after maintaining a 4.0 GPA in the 2016 spring semester, and received the Oak Farms Dairy Academic Award in 2016 and 2017.

He ranks second among Texas State defensive leaders with 28 total tackles this season after collecting seven stops against UTSA. Loyd has 14 solo tackles this season and tallied four against the Roadrunners despite playing at outside linebacker for the first time this season. He equaled his career-high of 12 total tackles, including a season-best seven solo stops, at Colorado. Loyd also tallied his first sack of the season and a tackle for loss of eight yards against the Buffaloes.

His 12 tackles at Colorado mark the fourth time in his career he has recorded double-digit tackles in a game. He also had 12 tackles at ULM, 11 tackles, including a career-best 10 solo tackles, at Idaho and 10 total tackles at Ohio last season.

Sophomore linebacker Bryan London led Texas State with nine tackles against UTSA to mark the first time he has led the Bobcats in tackles during a game this season. He enters the Wyoming game leading the team with 31 total tackles, including 13 unassisted stops. He also has 1.0 tackle for loss of three yards. Last season, London ranked third nationally in total tackles and solo tackles with 141 total stops and 83 solo tackles.

Senior safety A. J. Krawczyk recorded a career-high eight tackles and equaled his career high of six solo stops versus UTSA. He enters the Wyoming game leading the Bobcats and ranked third among Sun Belt Conference leaders with 22 solo tackles. He is third among team leaders with 27 total tackles.

SCOUTING THE COWBOYS
Wyoming enters Saturday's game with a 2-2 record after posting a 28-21 overtime victory against Hawai'i. The Cowboys opened the season with a 24-3 loss at Iowa before returning home for three straight games. Wyoming split its first two games with a 27-0 win over Gardner-Webb and a 49-13 loss against Oregon before the overtime victory against Hawai'i. It was the third time in four years that the Cowboys have won their Mountain West Conference opener.

Wyoming safety Andrew Wingard was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine tackles, a tackle for a loss of four yards and one interception against Hawai'i.

The Cowboy defense ranks seventh nationally in forcing turnovers after intercepting five passes this season. The Cowboy offense has done a good job of taking care of the football and enters Saturday's ranked 28th nationally with just four turnovers this season.
